A catalyst for culture
This is the second instalment of the “Natural Laws” series where we explore the principles we’ve extracted from nature and how they apply to the Xsauce ecosystem.
The focus for this law will be on the Xchange, which is the engine room of the Xsauce ecosystem. The Xchange is a powerful catalyst for creative output.
Natural Law #2 : Xchange + $SAUX = [🔥🔥🔥]
In its purest form, a catalyst reduces the amount of energy required for a chemical reaction to take place; making things happen easier, faster and with less friction. A catalyst works with the existing elements to facilitate the transfer of energy.
It can also be helpful to think of the Xchange as an accelerant (think of gas or kerosene) for cultural assets. It provides the extra oomph which can overcome the barriers keeping us on the outside.
So how does it actually work?
The Xchange has an in-built redistribution mechanism. It starts with the fees collected from buying and selling of xAssets (more here). There is a 3% fee added to each txn which is redistributed like this — 1% goes to $SAUX stakers, 1% to the Treasury and 1% is burned as a deflationary measure. This reallocation allows the protocol to reward supporters and also use funds from the Treasury to provide creator grants.
If the $SAUX is kerosene, then the creator grants are oxygen. Put them both in the hands of a dreamer and it becomes a one-way ticket to the moon.
Creator grants are unadulterated permission to create; a license to flip things on their heads and challenge the status quo. We know there are many industries in need of a creative revolution and we want to use any success we have to level the playing field.
The Xchange is also a catalyst for culture shapers. The Xchange is fundamentally about taking back control. It’s about reclaiming your future beyond the bounds of the current financial system. It offers a way to convert your knowledge into passive income, a way to leverage an uncanny ability to spot trends into a future career path. It’s an opportunity to create new job titles like “Synthetic Asset Manager” or “xAsset Fund Manager”. This is just the beginning.
Conclusion.
The ones who know, well they already know. They can feel the pace of culture picking up, they can feel the tension building.
We’re at an inflection point in time. When we emerge from the other side, there will be new financial opportunities which harness the true value of cultural assets.
